Being a student is just as exciting as it is tiring. On some days, you can get enough sleep to last a lifetime, and on other days, you can barely get two hours of rest. On some days, you look great and dashing, and on some others, you wouldn’t mind a few dressing tips for students.

As always, we’re here to help you through all of those rough days. After all, it’s what guys do. So, without wasting too much of your time, because you probably have an assignment due now that schools are resuming, here are four essential dressing tips for students:

  1. Dress according to your pocket

Believe me when I say that there is absolutely no reason to impress anyone. Seriously, there isn’t. That lady you think would look your way when you spend extravagantly probably wouldn’t. The guy you think would respect you because of all your new gold chains might not even care. So, why bother? If you are going shopping for clothes, never pick something that’ll end up leaving your pockets dry and your stomach even drier.

  1. Wear clothes as the occasion dictates

A casual stroll to school for sports is definitely not the right time to rock that new suit you have. Yes, we’ll admit that the colour looks good on you, but its purpose would be entirely wasted as you’d be overdressing. In the same vein, the time you’re making a presentation is also not the appropriate time to try out your funky ripped jeans. Dress the way the occasion demands.

  1. If you can, avoid extravagant colours

Whether it is when you’re dressing up or when you’re picking up a new pair of clothes, avoid going towards colours that are too loud. Why? Well, for starters, if you choose brightly coloured apparels, you must keep in mind that you won’t always be able to combine them with other clothes you’ve got. For example, there’s absolutely no way you can make a pink and yellow jacket look good with all your trousers. So, go for simpler things like white or black. They seem boring, but they’re going to be lifesavers when you need to make a quick dressing decision.

  1. Don’t be quick to jump on trends

While this might seem like a completely bad idea, it actually isn’t. For starters, if you choose to chase after every fashion trend, the chances are that new ones will keep popping up and draining you of your cash. Alongside that, you’ll have no personal identity. You’ll just be that guy who wears what everyone else is wearing. Instead of doing this, create your own style. Be different.

Dressing properly as a student really shouldn’t be so difficult for you to do. Nevertheless, above all that’s been said, remember to spend wisely in your clothing purchases. The last thing you want to be is being broke because you wanted to buy the latest fashion wear. Having said all of that, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA!
